There is a chance that the *.gatsbyjs.io domain gets crawled and indexed by search engines, which may be unwanted behaviour, especially if a custom domain is configured.

You can now set Gatsby Cloud to redirect gatsbyjs.io domains to your primary domain via Site Settings -> Hosting -> Set Primary Redirect.
All *.gatsbyjs.io urls will 301 redirect to the primary domain you select.

Good point. One workaround is to add password protection for your builds. Annoyingly, this then leads to endless password manager prompts, because each build doesn't have a pattern by which it can be identified and password remembered.
